Description
THURSDAY-FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY UNTIL 8PM FOR NEAR RECORD HEAT: Today will be full of sunshine and few clouds. Temperatures will gradually build throughout the afternoon near 100 with heat indices between 105-110. Isolated strong to severe storms are possible in the afternoon. A 1/5 Marginal Risk of severe weather is in place mostly west of I-75 and south of Highway 82.
FRIDAY: A break in the heat wave! We will be a few degrees cooler with strong to severe afternoon storms. Main threats are gusty winds and frequent lightning but a threat for hail cannot be ruled out. Highs will sit in the mid to upper 90s before storms fire up.
WEEKEND: A cold front from the north will trigger a few afternoon storms Saturday with highs near the mid 90s. Sunday trends drier and sunny with little rain to find.
NEXT WEEK: Morning lows start the week in the upper 60s to lower 70s with a decrease in humidity. Highs will climb to the lower 90s but lower humidity will make feels-like temperatures stay near 100.
