THOMAS COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A father and son were killed in a fiery Tesla crash, according to the Thomas County coroner.
On Dec. 23, Magarret Brion Smith, 35 and Karter Smith, 14, died in the crash when their Tesla struck a pecan tree, and became engulfed in flames.
According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), they were traveling north on Ga. Hwy 35, near Merrillville Rd, when Smith lost control of the vehicle, left the right side of the roadway, traveled into a pecan orchard and struck a pecan tree.
Both father and son were pronounced dead at the scene.
