GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - One person has been taken to the hospital following a single-vehicle crash in Grady County early Sunday morning.

The Grady County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened on Highway 112 North near Gainous Road. Initial reports show the driver swerved to avoid a deer, causing the vehicle to leave the road and crash.

Emergency responders from the sheriff’s office, Grady Fire and Rescue, and Grady EMS responded to the scene. The sheriff’s office is investigating.

The driver sustained injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

“Authorities are urging drivers to remain vigilant for wildlife, especially during dawn and dusk hours when animals are most active. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and stay alert to prevent similar incidents,” the sheriff’s office said.
