ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — The Dougherty County Health Department will host a back-to-school vaccine clinic Saturday, July 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the health department on South Slappey Boulevard.

The event is organized through the Southwest Health District to help parents get their children immunized before the new school year begins.

Nurse Manager Brooke Stewart said the clinic is a chance to “protect, prepare, and immunize” children before they head back to class.

What to expect at the clinic

Children who receive vaccines at the Saturday event will get a free clear backpack while supplies last. A diaper giveaway and child car seat safety checks will also be available.

Can’t make it Saturday?

Parents who cannot attend the July 11 clinic can schedule vaccine appointments at the health department throughout July. Free clear backpacks will be available at those appointments as well, while supplies last.
