Description
SUMTER COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A detention center officer was arrested on April 21 after an investigation involving contraband items at the jail, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) announced May 14.
SCSO said Javian Blake was arrested for allegedly buying cell phones, cigarettes and handmade weapons and bringing them into the facility.

Blake is facing a felony charge of possessing and/or procuring items prohibited by inmates. That charge comes with a mandatory 10 year sentence.
SCSO said other arrests are expected in this investigation.
