ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – Devon Marquell Rambo, 28, was found guilty this week of illegally possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

The federal trial, presided over by Chief U.S. District Judge Leslie Gardner, began on May 27 and concluded May 28.

Rambo faces up to 15 years in federal prison with no possibility of parole. The conviction stems from a Sept. 20, 2024, incident in Albany, where officers discovered firearms and ammunition inside his home during a search related to a shooting report. Rambo, who has prior felony convictions for domestic violence and burglary in Texas, also had an active warrant at the time.

“This verdict sends a clear message: We are watching, we are acting and we are not backing down,” said ATF Assistant Special Agent Beau Kolodka.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs) and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime. Operation Take Back America streamlines efforts and resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).

The case is part of Operation Take Back America and was investigated by the Albany Police Department, ATF, and Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office.
