GILMER COUNTY, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A job well done by Gilmer County community members after helping the sheriff’s office find goats that were on the loose Sunday.
Around 9:06 a.m., the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office asked the Chatsworth Highway community to help round up the “goat gang.”
“Attention Chatsworth Hwy residents: If your goats broke out for a joy walk and forgot to leave a note, we found them chillin’ in someone’s yard like they own the place,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post. “They’re friendly, fluffy and currently trespassing.”
At 2:24 p.m., the sheriff’s office says the goats were found about 14 miles away from their home.
“How they pulled off that level of hoof-powered Houdini magic? We have no idea,” the sheriff’s office said in an update on their Facebook page.
The sheriff’s office says they were able to get the “hoofed hooligans safely wrangled” with the help of the community and were able to deliver them back to their owner.
“Yes, we now offer goat return services (kidding... sort of),” the sheriff’s office said.
GCSO thanked every who helped and came up with the “clever, hilarious” comments in their posts.
