GBI officials say on Sept. 8, the sheriff’s office asked GBI to investigate a tip that Hughes was misusing the department’s Flock Safety camera system for non-law enforcement purposes.
Hughes turned herself in Sept. 14 and was booked into the Colquitt County Jail.
After the investigation is done, the case will be handed over to the Southern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
