NASHVILLE, Ga. (WALB) — Berrien High School could soon have an upgraded football facility thanks to T-Mobile.

It’s all part of the company’s Friday Night 5G Lights initiative. Each year, T-Mobile puts up more than $8.4 million in total prize money for schools all over the country.

Schools compete through several rounds of voting to win the grand prize: a $1 million home field upgrade and more. The schools that get the most votes from the community in each round advance.

Currently, there are 40 schools designated as divisional finalists. Voting for this round is open through Oct. 25. The top 10 schools from each division (East, West, Midwest, and South) will win $25,000 each and a home game hosted by T-Mobile.

Next up, the top-voted school from each division is announced. Voting for that round is open Oct. 29 through Nov. 8. Each school winning in this round will receive $250,000, a Gronk Fitness Gym, and “The Big Deal” Student Leadership Award, worth $5,000.

And finally, on Nov. 12, the grand prize winner will be announced. That school will receive the $1 million home field makeover.
