ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Officials with the Albany Police Department (APD) are currently searching for a man accused of armed robbery and assault.

On Saturday, March 7, around 6:20 p.m., police responded to the 2300 block of West Gordon Avenue in reference to an armed robbery. According to a release, the victim was assaulted by a man identified as Jeremy inside of the victim’s apartment during an argument. Jeremy was described by the victim as a light-skinned male, in his late 20s, with dreadlocks and tattoos.

Police stated that the victim reported being struck and strangled by the suspect, and was also threatened with a rifle that was inside a bag.

Reports say that the suspect took the victim’s phone and fled the scene on an e-bike.

Officers are working to obtain surveillance footage and additional photos of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact APD using their phone number or through the app.

This investigation remains ongoing.
