ALBANY, Ga (WALB) - An Albany man is facing multiple charges after police say he stabbed his brother at their mother’s home.
According to the Albany Police Department, officers responded to the 700 block of Andover Lane around 3:26 p.m. on Oct. 23 following a reported stabbing.
Police say a 42-year-old man told officers his brother, James Washington Jr., 44, kicked in the door of their mother’s residence, attacked him and stabbed him.

The victim suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening and was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Police say they were familiar with the brothers from a previous call involving an unwanted guest. During that earlier incident, officers learned Washington was upset over allegations that his girlfriend was cheating on him with his brother.
According to police, Washington claimed he acted in self-defense.
Washington was charged with aggravated assault, burglary and three counts of terroristic threats.
