ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) -The Albany Fire Department is urging residents to practice fire safety as cold weather approaches.
The department says residents and their families should contact them if they are unsure whether their homes are fire safe. The service is free and requires only one call to help keep families protected.
According to the fire department, residents will not get into trouble or be cited for any hazards if they request an inspection. Officials will only offer suggestions and strategies to help keep families safe.
For those who need assistance or guidance, residents can contact a Community Fire Watch program representative at (229) 431-3266.
