Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — The Albany-Dougherty County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is activating Thursday evening (Oct. 8) at 5 p.m.
This comes ahead of the landfall of Hurricane Isaias, which is anticipated to come ashore Friday night.
The EOC is also being activated in anticipation of Albany State University Homecoming activities in downtown Albany, including the parade. The city is actively preparing to make sure the public is safe.
People in the area should use the EOC to report any non-emergency storm-related damage, such as trees/powerlines down, flooded streets, etc.
The EOC will be activated from Thursday at 5 p.m. to Sunday Oct. 11. Call the EOC at 229-302-1900. 911 should be used for true emergencies only.
