REMERTON, Ga. (WALB) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) announced today, April 11, that they have charged eight people for gang-related crimes. Two more people are still wanted in connection to the crimes.

The two wanted individuals and their felony charges are as follows:

  • Devante Crumitie, 24
    • Party to the Crime of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer
    • Participation in Criminal Street Gang Activity (2 counts)
  • Jailen Bryant, 17
    • Party to the Crime of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer
    • Participation in Criminal Street Gang Activity (2 counts)

Officials said if you see these individuals, do not approach them. Call 911.

The GBI said this comes after a joint investigation with the Remerton Police Department (RPD). Officials cited a Nov. 1, 2024 incident that led to an investigation into gang activity in South Georgia.

GBI explained in a press release that a crowd of people were gathered together around 1:30 a.m. The people were allegedly affiliated with two rival gangs – “Bangkrew” and “6block,” GBI said.

An altercation occurred between the two groups and Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) deputies tried to separate them, according to the GBI. The fighting escalated, and officials said shots were fired from multiple weapons. A LCSO deputy was shot during the incident, but has since recovered.

All of the people charged thus far are from Valdosta. They are all in custody at this time.

  • Talonnie Rogers, 24
    • Party to the Crime of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer
    • Participation in Criminal Street Gang Activity (2 counts)
    • Possession of a Firearm During a Crime
  • Umar Bryant, 26
    • Party to the Crime of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer
    • Participation in Criminal Street Gang Activity (2 counts)
    • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
    • Possession of a Firearm During a Crime
  • Jaquavious Neal, 21
    • Party to the Crime of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer
    • Participation in Criminal Street Gang Activity (2 counts)
    • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
    • Possession of a Firearm During a Crime
  • Jamarion Clements, 17
    • Party to the Crime of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer (2 counts)
    • Participation in Criminal Street Gang Activity (4 counts)
    • Possession of a Firearm During a Crime
  • Bernard Morrison, 25
    • Party to the Crime of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer
    • Participation in Criminal Street Gang Activity (2 counts)
  • Jacori Morrison, 22
    • Party to the Crime of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer
    • Participation in Criminal Street Gang Activity (2 counts)
  • Cameron Little, 25
    • Party to the Crime of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer
    • Participation in Criminal Street Gang Activity (2 counts)
    • Possession of a Firearm During a Crime
  • Cameron Roberts, 25
    • Party to the Crime of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer
    • Participation in Criminal Street Gang Activity (2 counts)

Officials said this investigation remains active and ongoing. They said anyone who witnessed this incident should contact the GBI Thomasville Office at 229-225-4090. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by calling 1-800-597-TIPS (8477).
