VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - The Valdosta Police Department (VPD) announced on May 2 they arrested four people and are searching for a fifth person involved in a shooting that happened on April 26.
VPD said the man they are searching for, 19-year-old Kewame “KJ” Taylor, should be considered armed and dangerous.
Two of the four people who have been arrested turned themselves into the VPD following the shooting. They are Trevion “Tre” McGee, 20, and Tyrese “Bubalo” McGee, 18.
The other two arrests were Callon “CJ” Sturrup, 18, and Caleb Dennis, 18.
The four are being held in the Lowndes County Jail. They are each facing the following charges:
- 3 counts of aggravated battery (felony)
- aggravated assault (felony)
- possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony (felony)
Taylor is wanted for the same charges.

In a press release, VPD said they responded to reports of a shooting at Friendly Express gas station on Inner Perimeter Road at about 11 p.m. on April 26. When they arrived, no one involved could be found, according to VPD. Then, officials said they got a report of an 18-year-old man who came to the hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
VPD said their investigation determined that the shooting was a result of an altercation between two large groups of people. Guns were discharged multiple times, police said.
VPD said that Taylor is a Valdosta resident. They encourage anyone with information about where he may be to contact 911 immediately.
The release said this investigation is still active and ongoing. VPD said they expect more charges to be impending. To contact the VPD about this case or any others, contact their Bureau of Investigative Services at 229-293-3145, the crime tip line at 229-293-3091 or file a tip online here.
