BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WALB) - Three defendants in two separate cases have been convicted of serious violent offenses within a two-week trial term, District Attorney Joseph K. Mulholland said in a release.

The release said that Darrin Bernard Nundra was convicted in a 2024 homicide case. Samuel Ryan Smith and India Adel Snicale were convicted in a 2023 shooting case.

In the homicide case, Nundra was convicted of:

  • Felony murder
  • Aggravated assault
  • Tampering with evidence

These charges stem from the Oct. 14, 2024, homicide of Mitchell Jerome Murrell, Jr.

Nundra was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole, the release said.

“This conviction holds the defendant accountable for the death of Mitchell Jerome Murrell Jr. and provides a sense of closure for his grieving family.”

“I commend all the law enforcement agencies those tireless efforts and commitment were essential to achieving this resolution.”

In the shooting case, Smith and Snicale were convicted of:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Violation of Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act

The release said that Smith was sentenced to 40 years of probation with 15 years to be served in the Georgia Department of Corrections. Snicale was charged with 30 years of probation with 15 years to be served in the Georgia Department of Corrections.

Testimony and evidence were provided by Bainbridge Public Safety related to the incidents “impacting multiple victims in Decatur County,” the release said.

“These convictions ensure accountability for those responsible and bring a measure of justice to the victims impacted by these violent acts.”

“Again, I commend Bainbridge Public Safety and all the law enforcement agencies whose tireless efforts and commitment were essential to achieving this outcome.”
