Investigators worked with a SWAT Team on two high-risk searches and arrests warrants for Stevie Richardson, 17, and Sy’terrious Thomas, 18. The searches were executed in the 600 block of Wadkins Avenue and the 500 block of Willard Avenue.
Richardson was arrested on Wadkins Avenue and charged with:
- Two counts of Aggravated Assault
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime
Investigators found that Richardson used his mother’s vehicle during the shooting and coordinated the incident with Thomas.
During a search for the vehicle, a ski mask was found that matched the victim’s description, police said.
Additionally, evidence from Richardson’s phone revealed incriminating messages and deleted texts, further connecting him to the crime. Surveillance and FLOCK camera footage also confirmed the vehicle’s movements before and after the shooting.
Thomas was arrested on Willard Avenue for similar charges.
During his arrest, investigators found a stolen Palmetto handgun with matching ammunition inside the residence, leading to an additional charge of Theft by Receiving Stolen Property.
Both Richardson and Thomas were taken to the Dougherty County Jail.
