Description

LEESBURG, Ga. (WALB) - Two individuals were arrested in Leesburg on Tuesday, Nov. 18 in connection to an identity theft and check fraud case out of Perry, Georgia, according to Leesburg Police Chief Christopher Prokesh. The investigation was linked with help from the Flock camera system, officials said.

Several agencies responded to assist with this arrest, including Leesburg Police, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and a SWAT team.

The SWAT team reportedly responded to the scene — a residence on Fox Hound Court in Leesburg — because of the potential for elevated risk. Officials said that one of the suspects has a history of evading arrest.

The individuals were not identified by any law enforcement officials.

Officials said there is no active threat to the community. More arrests are expected, according to Chief Prokesh.
