ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Albany Air Conditioning and Heating Company, Inc. is investing in military trade school education with Albany Tech (ATC). On Wednesday, Feb. 25, Albany Air Conditioning and Heating donated $15,000 to the school.

The funding will reportedly help build phase I of Albany Tech’s regional Veterans Education Career Transition Resource Center (VECTR). VECTR is a nearly 12,000-foot facility dedicated to housing services and educational programs for military-affiliated students. The center stands to support military veterans, workforce development and economic development in the region, according to ATC.

“Our VECTR Center is a strategic investment in those who have given so much to our country. Veterans bring leadership, discipline, and real-world experience to our region. With the support of partners like Albany Air Conditioning and Heating Company we are building a centralized space that removes barriers and connects veterans and their families to education, training, and career opportunities. Community support is essential to making this vision a reality.”

Upon completion, the VECTR center will house the following programs:

  • VA Benefits Assistance
  • Financial enrollment services
  • Career counseling
  • Academic advising
  • Employer connections
  • DoD SkillBridge Training Opportunities

Contributions from Albany Air Conditioning and Heating Company allow for spaces like VECTR to operate. In a press release, Albany Tech invited any South Georgia organization with similar goals to contact Michelle Williams at [email protected] or at (229) 430-6624.

The VECTR Program is expected to cost $1.7 million for phase I.
