LEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Multiple vehicles were broken into on the night of Tuesday, Nov. 11 in South and East Lee County, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO). Officials said that cash and firearms were stolen, and in one case, a vehicle was taken.
The LCSO listed the neighborhoods that were affected by Tuesday night’s break-ins. They are as follows:
- Fowler Drive
- Winchester Drive
- Highland Court
- Darian Drive
- Twisted Pines Court
The sheriff’s office asks that residents of these neighborhoods check their home surveillance footage from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
The LCSO said that since Tuesday, deputies have recovered several stolen items, including the vehicle. They said the suspects are described as two males who were wearing gloves and face coverings.
Anyone with further information about these incidents is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at 229-759-6012.
The sheriff’s office is also encouraging drivers to remember the following tips:
- Always lock your vehicle — even in your own driveway
- Remove all valuables and visible items each night
- Park in view of home surveillance cameras whenever possible
- If you see someone actively breaking into a vehicle, remember these suspects may be armed and dangerous. Do not confront them — instead, call 911 immediately
